Truitt and Carpenter interviewed on The Talking Dog

Steve Truitt and Charlie Carpenter are the latest habeas counsel to be interviewed by the talking dog (click on the title above and maybe you will go directly to the interview). Perhaps it is just me but my favorite part of the talking dog interviews is reading about the interactions between the various habeas counsel and their clients. I especially like the fact that one of Steve and Charlie's clients realizes the folly of the legal procedures on his behalf... but he is still happy for the company of these great lawyers and is grateful for the efforts on his behalf....
The legal procedures are of course a joke (a sad one at that)... but it is not because of the hard work of the many courageous attorneys who have taken on these cases.... it is because the circuit court and the district court judges are completely unable (or unwilling) to do their job.
Shame on those judges.... They took the same oath we lawyers took... "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic".
